Koru Art!

We found out that a koru comes from the New Zealand fern. It symbolises growth, new life and new beginnings.

The koru is a very important image in New Zealand, it has many uses. These are some we could think of:
- Weaving
- Decorations
- Ta moko
- Tattoos
- On the Marae
- In art
- To represent your family
- Pounamu
- On waka
- In patterns

Here is an amazing timelapse video we watched of a fern unfurlng - it made it so clear to see the spiral shape of the koru.
